Kiyoko is born in Vancouver to a Japanese immigrant family. In her youth she spends a lot of time between Canada and Japan, learning about her culture and her life in Canada.
She is pressured by her mother to become successful in her career, as her mother is a housewife and she doesn't want to see her become the same thing.
Kiyoko eventually pressures herself to succeed and works extremely hard - often to the point of illness - during school.
After her awakening, during her employment at Bombardier, she has a nervous breakdown. She is submitted to Project Solace to recover, and after a few months, she learns to relax and have fun.
After a couple of years at Project Solace, she's picked up several hobbies including dissecting rap lyrics for their beat, and restoring old cars. Activities encouraged by the Director of Intake, Dr. Valdez.
